pocket pc with built in 20gig hard drive

pocket pc with built in 20gig hard drive

Postby jagnon » Apr 1, 2003 @ 3:03pm

I posted this suggestion to toshiba's suggestion board.. Would any of you buy a toshiba pocket pc with a built in 10 or 20 gig hard drive?

Toshiba makes the hard drives for the apple Ipod, and they are very thin.. adding it to the e310/e330/e335 would probably only expand it to the size of the e740..

With this combo, you could have gigs of mp3's and video files.. and it would position the ppc against the new breed of mp3/video players coming out this year (rca lyra, archos media jukebox)

Toshiba is really the best positioned to release this type of product since they manufacture their own hard drives..

Just buy a Genio, it comes with a several gig hard drive built in.

I wouldn't buy it, but I guess I'm a budget PDA buyer, or atleast mainstream. I don't need the storage and what I DO need is the battery life. I'm sure tons of people would go for that, though.

And how fragile the unit would become with a harddrive built in. If you dropped it or shook it at all then that hard drive is going to go bad, then you have to send the entire unit into repair it.

That pocketpc is using a 2.5" hard drive, and is probably the reason why it's so thick..

the hard drives toshiba makes are 1.8" and is the reason why ipods are so much smaller than every other hard drive based player on the market..

teaming up a 1.8" toshiba hd with a toshiba ppc seems like a great combo to me..

this is a link to the toshiba 20gig 1.8" hd..[/url]

Same here, you distorted my 1600x1200 screen also. Use the code, it makes the forum look much better.

distored mine too, not that it really matters. That french PPC looks awesome, but i wish it came with a PXA255. It probably has like a 10 minute battery life too.
Careful, don't get crushed under the weight of my stupidity... the think hurts
