I think I'm going to leave for the most part

Well, if James leaves, PM will be absolutely void of intelligent conversations. Well, I'll miss you, even though I've been on PM for about 2 months....

I've spent the last few minutes reading everything that led up to this, and I've got a concern. If someone picks an argument, am I by grounds of my post-count supposed to roll over and take it?

I don't need to tell you this is probably the biggest PPC community online. Plus, I do understand that this is a business of sorts (and if I respect anything, it's business) and you can't have permanently hostile factions if you plan to hold this community, but I am requesting that when it comes time to ban someone that you gauge strictly by measures of both party's actions.

And I do realise I probably do deserve a ban -- I've got a way of not forgiving attacks on me -- but James made the first round of insults that led to this. Just because he cried off; it doesn't mean he was the un-witting victim here.

Personally, I think these (virtually) unregulated forums have a way of rectifying conflicts on their own. Example: James haughtiness has been dealt with, and I'm about to be discommunicated for my arrogance. But that's not my call.

And once this karma system is in place, you may as well rename this place to Lemmings Discussion. You're going to end up with a bunch of people whose opinions are seperated by (very few) degrees and nothing but rehashed news articles. But again, your call.

karma would be optional, you could hide people whose comments you don't want to read.

I personally wouldn't see a reason for banning you. We don't ban often, but when we do there is a good reason. We definately take into consideration the actions of both parties. Most of the people we ban are just a plain annoyance to everyone. I don't recall us ever banning anyone for an opinion they've had (unless it's a blatant personal attack on one of the admins-- but that's different, right? ;))

democracy? hah!

Organic Superlube? Oh, it's great stuff, great stuff. You really have to keep an eye on it, though--it'll try and slide away from you the first chance it gets.
