My hair right now is like an inch too long, too. I look like a blonde Beetle... that didn't take a shower after he woke up.

About faux pas, you have no idea how many kids at uni wear blue socks with their khaki pants and tennis shoes... I about freak out, and I'm not THAT OCD.

I decided it would be easier to find stuff online that I wear. Here are examples of my style.

This is what I'd wear to a casual party:

This is something I'd just wear when I was hanging out with friends -slash- didn't have class that day.

I have this overcoat (aka top suit), I'd wear it to class on a cold day.

I'd wear this with a verticle pin-strip dress shirt, probably blue strips or blue and brown intermittent.
