I suppose in the end, it really doesn't matter WHICH side you are on, so long as you ARE educated on the issues.

I'd put redneck-christian-right-wing in the same category as collegate-socialist-liberal.

For the record, I don't think that the war was used to fuel the economy, that is a fallacy along with doing it for the oil. Neither of those 2 positions hold any value as we do not extract oil from their and we are not being repaid for our expenditures. However, I doubt that it was purely for WMDs too...but then...that was not what was sold to us, no matter what people say. We went there for several reasons. 1) WMD and the potential for their sale to terrorists. 2) Terrorist ties. 3) Genocide / Crazed Dictator removal 4) Centeral location for the introduction of westernization to the middle east.

1) We haven't found em...but everyone is culpable. The UN believed they had em, France did, Spain did, the UK did...everyone...hence 19 UN resolutions on the subject.
2) We found documents linking Sadaam to Al Queida in Iraq, and proved that they had gotten money and aid from Iraq...as well as the Palistinian link.
3) If you count 2800 Serbs dead in Kosovo as genocide, you have to count 300,000 ethnic Kurds and Suunis as genocide too.
4) I agree with this philosophy, but I can see where others do not.

I've lived in Saudi Arabia and Turkey. Those shitholes need as much westernization as they can get. Turkey is working on it, which is why it was at least bearable.

We'll need to earn around 700 billion dollars in Iraq over the next 10 years before the war can be considered profitable.

As far as the strength of the US economy is concerned, lately all of the world's economies have been surging. Not to mention, in the US econmic growth would happen regardless of whether we went to war or not.
Truth is a possession.

No problem RIC. It's also worth noting that some cultures are completely backward and wrong. There's nothing wrong with the liberation of people from their own stupidity.

Thierry, if you have issues with US policy, yet realize that Canadian wealth is due in part to the US's economy, why not hand over a suitably large chunk of your wealth over to all the shit holes the US has wronged?
Truth is a possession.
