I get RTL4 here (Dutch channel) in Luxembourg. When I moved here (in 1999) I found that on Saturday and Sunday mornings they had lots (several hours each day) of cartoons (pretty sure it was Telekids first thing Sunday morning, with BeastWars, etc) and TV shows, in
English with Dutch subtitles. Which for me, was great; I even taught myself a bit of Dutch from the subtitles by osmosis (ik ben gaaf .. ik ben gek
Gek op Mac! .. oh the power of advertising).
Then somebody at RTL4 must've decided it was a bad idea(tm) and replaced the whole lot with friggin' kiddie game-shows (trits kids, etc)... in
Dutch. Kanker hoer.
