HELP ME

Organic Superlube? Oh, it's great stuff, great stuff. You really have to keep an eye on it, though--it'll try and slide away from you the first chance it gets.

Crosswind technique: "Using your peripheral vision, react to body movements, gasps, groans, and shouts from the other side of the cockpit, and always remember that it's better to be lucky than good."

I never overclock, except for my PPC sometimes :P. I feel most comfortable with a system designed for speed where it's running at, so I can leave it one in the night when I like etc.

Yup, it's highly unlikely that you can damage a PPC processor through overclocking, and you get a definite performance improvement.

Let me illustrate it this way - let's assume we have a 400Mhz Xscale, and a 3200MHz P4. We can get (with the facilities available) another 40MHz out of both machines.

So, on the Pocket PC, we get a theoretical 10% improvement. On the P4, we get a 1.25% improvement.

Precisely. If your fan dies, you still have a heatsink attached to the CPU, and it will take slightly longer to die. Enough time, I'd have thought, for the sensor to catch up and shut it down.

On the other hand, if you're CPU is overclocked, not only are you increasing its speed, you're increasing the core voltage. That means it will get very hot very quickly, and I suspect, overheat before the sensor notices.

In addition, remember we're talking to the guy whose computer is lying in pieces on a nylon carpet...

Ahem, that was my dad's computer and its now in a case. And don't even say anything about how he's an idiot because he is a god in overclocking.

Yes my voltage is up but only by .10, I still have faith in my MOBO to realize that it's getting to hot.
