der Wolfenstein!

Re: der Wolfenstein!

Wow, I just came on the baord after three days of literally playing RTCW non stop, and someone beat me to my post! lol. Anyway all I can say is GO GET THIS GAME! It is amazing and for sure will win game of the year. I just played it for three days straight only stopping to eat and shower (which is sad), but I beat the game. Only draw back is I too would have liked to be in the Castle more and have it be more about that rather than than the "Medal of Honor" approach they took to the game. They had a real potential to do the Wolfenstein name more justice. Other than that, though, IT WAS GREAT. So who wants to port it to the PPC? lol. I WISH! Anyway Brian O crapped out on the old Wolf port, than Rob mentioned doing it and crapped out also it looks like. So lets get this port going, there is obviously demand for it.

I belive someone has stumbled upon a project which has the ASM converted to C, which according to Dan East is most the work. He is "taking a look at it" whether that means Dan will port another great title and raise his godly status in the PocketPC community even higher, well we will see. Was that a little over the top? nah..:)

davinci, yes, the game is incredible, I am certain that Grey Matter will be making an add-on map pack (I haven't written to them, too lazy to). And it is not sad that you only stopped playing Wolfenstein to piss and eat, because that's what I did too, and that's also why I love having a private bathroom right next to the computer ;D.

I heard that Brian O. already converted the ASM to C, so if Dan or whoever, can get it from him, then the work would be easier.

Brain-O is the same guy that ported TFC to PPC WITHOUT even needing the source to Half-life. He figured out a way to dynamically generate the engine via slight modification to the mod core.

Wow! He ported TFC to PPC without the source? Is it actually possible to play it on a PPC? If so, wouldn't it be awesome to play Counter-Strike on PPC? It requires 133Mhz, so we all beat that. But most importantly, we still need PocketWolf, because that'll take up very little space and will run extremely fast. If someone does complete Brian O.'s PocketWolf, is it legal to distribute the full version of Wolfenstein 3D? Because legally, you can only distribute the demo, but most of us (at least me) have the full game, so how would we be able to do this? Would it be like Doom4CE, where we just put in the map files, but does Wolfenstein 3D use map files? It must, but I have no idea.

you mean the thing about tfc being based on tf for quake which is freely available and runs on any version of quake including the pocket pc, meaning that all he did was uh... hmm... thats a tough one, what did he do?

lol. Good god, get a grip. Some people will believe anything.

No, TFC for Half-Life has not been ported. I was joking.

But check this out: The uber-beta version of the PS2 emulator I have running on my Casio E-125 will run The PS2 version of Half-Life. I'll bet that the Counterstrike mod will run on that.

Ok ok, I wasn't sure if you making it up in the first place, so I just didn't know.

If Counter-Strike can work on PPC, and is ported, it would have to have bots, because multiplayer online would be too hard, and would require the Internet.
