Crosswind technique: "Using your peripheral vision, react to body movements, gasps, groans, and shouts from the other side of the cockpit, and always remember that it's better to be lucky than good."
I just don't think it's worth it. I will have lost money anyway at the end of this, with the horrendous phone bill I'm going to get, and who's to say this won't happen again with another company.
Besides, I'm not going to be able to afford another Pocket PC for a long, long time.

Ok you should ask for your ppc back, then open it up yourself and clean out the dust and find whats wrong with the speaker (since they claim you opend it anyway). Thats what I would do.
The company I work for Georgia-Pacific has aqquired Fort James which has a pretty well sized footprint in the UK in areas and they are all compaq shops, I will see also if I can find a Compaq Rep that has some pull. You can email me at the email in the profile and in case it is not in there.
I know I am new but I hate any vendor with bad customer/technical support or they hire the idiots off the street cause they will work for min wage and fill up seats.

Note to self: Why don't you ever listen to me?
We the unwilling led by the unqualified for so long with so little we now attempt the impossible with nothing
really? maybe that's why i'm getting so much spam too.. uhgg, I hate spam.
well, you did sign up before our new forums, so it is possible that a spider visited our memberslist page and stole your email address from there.. who knows.. I hate the tactics of spammers...
the thing that annoys me the most is at the bottoms it has an unsubscribe thing.... well I NEVER SUBSCRIBED.... *releases anger on stress ball*
oh, and... why would you have a spam account if you'd never received spam before? ... whatever, time to go write more essays.
Well, after arguing for nearly an hour on the phone tonight and getting through to a really high level of Customer Support, I have been assured by Compaq that my Pocket PC has been reclassified as a special repair and will be repaired and returned to me free of charge within seven days!! Yippeee!!!!
So, you can buy Compaq again, but be wary about sending your iPAQ back unless it is covered by a full warranty - I would also suggest you buy a CarePaq, since if Compaq refuse to repair it you can hang on to the temporary replacement as a hostage.
I'll let everyone know when it comes back. I was starting to suffer withdrawal symptoms from my Pocket PC. I've bought Monsters INC to encode for it when it comes back.
I don't think I'll sell it right away, since I'm going to be owing BT for the tech support calls, but one day I may sell it and get an XScale. One day ...
Again, thanks for all the help everyone on this board has offered; it's much appreciated. I promise to do my best to help if anyone is stuck in a similar situation.
