*cleans up Ideot's barf* In the US, only 0.1% of all passenger cars are diesel (both my parent's VWs are diesel), while in Europe, at least 33% are. Americans are too ignorant when it comes to diesel. Look at that stupid Honda hybrid!! 50mpg, wow. Slow as hell (0-60 in 20+ seconds), 2-seater, frame and body made out of tin foil (literally, I've satten in them), but look at VW's turbo diesel. My parent's cars get 60mpg! And they're fast, powerful (155lb-ft for 4-cylinder!), and just plainly better! This VW "1-L" car is the beginning of a new genre, they'll obviously be making that car much faster in the future, and may be able to increase fuel mileage. In Europe, there's the VW Lupo 3L TDI, which is a mini-car, moderately fast (good enough for the Autobahn), and gets 100mpg.

I found the aerodynamics of the "1-L" quite astonishing. A drag of only 0.159!!! Do you know how good that is!! The average car is 0.4, and SUVs are 0.8 - 1.1!! Semi-trucks are something like 3.0.

do you know the drag for the average racing motorbike? that thing makes 8.5bhp, my restricted bike makes 12bhp until i pass my test, and my bike is fast enough to overtake everything in my way. it may be no good for the autobahn, but that is probably the fastest road in the northern hemisphere.
Why?

I just got back my car from the shop, and you can't even tell AT ALL that it was hit! They did such a nice job, and they didn't have to replace the door, so we got a profit of $400! It cost $1300, and the insurance (after almost going to court with the bastards!) gave us $1700 (they were going to give us $1200, and make us pay $500, so they were going to only give us $700). Car looks awesome, and it's ready for the upcoming VW shows, I think the first one is in early June.

I attended one of the largest VW shows on the east coast yesterday, the Litchfield Bug-In. I brought my Golf (yes, the clown car...), and went into A3 Stock class. There were 6 other cars in that class, 3 Jettas, 1 Passat TDI, a Golf, and ANOTHER HARLEQUIN (clown car style) GOLF!!! The other one is pretty nice, different color scheme than mine, his base color is green, mine's red. I took some pictures of them together *hears the adorable "ahhs" from the audience*, so I'll be scanning them in when they get developed. I placed 3rd, 2nd went to the Passat, and first to the other Golf Harlequin. His is really clean, but I have to deal with a giant slobbering dog and my stupidass sister in my car! Well, we're starting a New England Golf Harlequin club and are going to have some kind of meet when we get enough people. We have about 12 right now. Now wouldn't that be hilarious? A picture of a whole group of clown cars!!!

In other news, my mom wants my dad to trade in his VW New Beetle (super supped up with spoilers, exhaust, graphics...) and buy a new Jetta Stationwagon TDI. We're trying to decide but we don't know. I don't want my dad to trade in his car, nor does he, but my mom doesn't want to give up her car, which is the same as my dad's car, but a lot more beat up and not customized at all. I doubt the dealer would even take my dad's, it's an inch off the ground! Anyway, that's all for now.

I wanted all things
To seem to make some sense,
So we all could be happy, yes,
Instead of tense.
And I made up lies
So that they fit nice,
And I made this sad world
A par-a-dise.

LOL, but look at the dates of the posts, 5/5, 5/19, and 6/17! I'll be getting the pictures soon, the other Harlequin guy had a digital camera, and he'll be sending me the pics asap.

If you're interested, or have nothing else to do, look at this page, the North American Golf Harlequin registry. I'm not on it yet, but I will be soon. My car is 198th of 200.

The Volkswagen Golf has offically surpassed the Volkswagen Beetle as being the world's most popular car. See , the 21,517,415th Golf. The Beetle is still being made in Mexico though, so the numbers on that are still rising too.

I drove in Boston for the first time yesterday! It was scary, because people can't wait a fraction of a second for you. Well, everyone is pretty nervious there, but the taxis!! OMG, I hate those freakin' taxi drivers, honking and honking, for no reason! And they make pedestrians JUMP out of the way! I was letting a group of girls () walk across the street, and this taxi comes up onto my ass, honks, then BARELY squeezes around me, honks, and makes some of the pedestrians jump out of its way! And Boston is extremely confusing, nothing like NYC, it's all random roads everywhere, no order. TONS of oneways, and all those left turn only and right turn only lanes, with no normal straight lanes! Craziness.
