and finally, even though agreeing to the kyoto plan WOULDN'T involve confinscating SUV's, it is still a good idea, because it DOESN'T matter about you as an individual, think about it as the US as a whole. doing something like that would have such a positive effect on the future, and humans would just make something to replace it, like the hydrogen cells.

And yes it would. The Kyoto plan would hugely impact the American society in many ways, not just the way cars are made. But I've got a car that gets 38 mpg and has emission ratings better than California's standard.
