Trek & time travel

The time travel episodes are usually a hit but in Enterprise, they shouldn't be doing any of these shows. Supposedly, TOS' The Naked Time was the first time travel occurance. That doesn't neccessarily mean the writers will stick to that because Enterprise has already used a holodeck.

James

nothing wrong with the holodeck. it just wont be used on starfleet ships for another 200 years...

as for time travel they will do it (i personally love them but i know most trek fans dont) probably in the 'sweeps' (is that what you yanks call it?) and on the next big trek anniversary

Don't get wrong, some of my favorite episodes have time travel themes (City on the Edge of Forever, Time's Arrow). I don't like the idea of doing a retro series because of continuity issues. Something that was established in either TOS or TNG (like time travel) is likely to be ignored.

James

i dont see any continuity problems. people said the ship was too advanced, now they moan its not hard enough weapons-wise. people said the klingon encounter was too early, when it was established that the known klingon encounter was actually a guess by mike okuda. people said a lot of things, now all they complain about is the theme song...

besides, they all go crazy saying 'if its on screen its canon' but they forget all the ridiculous shit in the early days of tng, the WHOLE of tos and the films, ds9, voyager (well, they dont forget voyager :))

i think its a great idea. i'm lovin' every minute, baby.

I haven't used morpheus, but I've had EXCELLENT luck with xolox - it downloads from every server that has tha same file and then compares and complies the final version. It doesn't have all the girly chat features and built in players or previews, but it is solid and the best gnutella client I've seen.

Pluss it's coded by people from the Nederlands who use error messages like "huh.. Heel vreemd.. ERG GROTE FOUT" which, translated means "huh.. very strange.. very big error."

Boy, I love xolox. :)

I stopped caring what the crazed fan thinks after the whole Klingon blood crap from The Undiscovered Country. I thought DS9 was extremely well written the last few years and thought Voyager was pretty good. I actually haven't heard anything about Enterprise until you just mentioned it.

The way I look at it, certain things can be viewed as what is cinematically possible at the time. It was too expensive to give races full make-up jobs in TOS so they didn't. When they had bigger budgets, they changed their looks. No big deal. What does irritate me is when they write stories that contridict established plot lines. On that note, I guess we could start a whole new thread on those type mistakes or omissions.

James

oh please, forget a new thread. its bad over at trekbbs, we dont need that kind of attitude here.

over there noone can accept anything as entertainment, they consider themselves the guardians of star trek, they all love gene of course (despite him being a bit of an idiot) and hate 'b&b'...

idiots.
