^-- True, look at the videos for MuDvAyNe - Dig, Slipknot - My Plage, Mushroomhead - Solitaire/Unraveling, and any System of a Down videos, they're mostly random than violent. Slipknot's video is a concert with random clips from the movie "Resident Evil". Mushroomhead's video is a desert thing with a Trojan horse in it...and MuDvAyNe's video for Dig (they also have a video for Death Blooms) is really cool, good special effects, but not violent. Now look at the videos for ANY Britney Spears video, Christia Agulari's new video, and other videos like Hot In Herre. They're...well...inappropriate for young children. I don't have anything against them

, but I do disagree with the image they give of how "half black, half Latina girls in bikinis are simple objects". And Britney Spears...losing her virginity on every one of her videos. Now look at Korn - Thoughless video, yeah, a little violent, more emotionally sympathetic though, and a guy doing a hilariously huge puke at the end that makes people fly across the room

. The only complaint I have about MTV is how they make it seem like there's no such thing as rock music. It's ALL rap and hip hop. All I ask is that, like, at music awards, don't such have a "rock" catergory, when they have rap, hip hop, pop, r&b, and indie catergories, that's just so unfair. What's the difference between hip hop, pop, and r&b? I don't know, but there's a difference between alternative rock and heavy metal, yet MTV puts them in the same class. Rock is not the underground of music, and rap is not the only type of "music". I'm just sick of how MTV makes it seem that way. Aaylia dies, the world stops, Dave Williams dies, just a filler for MTV News. And you know what? MTV used to have another channel, MTV X, where it would be all rock/metal videos, but you know what they did? THEY CHANGED IT TO MTV JAM!! ALL RAP VIDEOS! If there should be a petition to MTV, it should be about giving rock/metal music the attention it deserves.
