Cheaper means they're state funded instead of private so they have ALL THE LATEST facilities. and Jadam, just because someone doesn't have the same skin color as you doesn't mean they're retards, biggot 8). And it's obvious that location is a preference and others like some places better than others. I don't like MIT and I think UCF is just as good, it's always under construction because it's so well funded by the state. They even have a rock climbing arena in the two story gym, the one that has over 100 walkers and 30 benches. The entire campus is spit and polish clean 24/7/365. The student activity center is 5 stories, including 3 arcade rooms, 5 restaurants, and 12 restroom facilities.

UCF is a nice place.

Based on US News annual Best College rankings, the best schools for Computer Engineering (with a doctorate program):

1. Massachusetts Inst. of Technology
2. Carnegie Mellon University (PA)
3. Stanford University (CA)
4. University of California–Berkeley *
5. U. of Illinois–Urbana-Champaign *

Best Schools for Computer Engineering w/o Doctorate program (meaning only bachelor degree or master's degree):

1. Rose-Hulman Inst. of Tech. (IN)
2. Rochester Inst. of Technology (NY)
3. Cal Poly–San Luis Obispo *
4. Harvey Mudd College (CA)
5. Cooper Union (NY)

* denotes a public school
A little rudeness and disrespect can elevate a meaningless interaction to a battle of wills and add drama to an otherwise dull day.

That figure is based on the success of the students that graduate from those locations. Again, fame is self perpetuating. Some very intelligent kids went to MIT and graduated and became CEO's of Microsoft or whatever, then people said, "WOW, look at THAT, MIT taught them well," so more intelligent people go there because they want to be just like the rest of the people that went to MIT. Then MIT started a rigorous admissions process so that only truly smart people get in so that they're ranking stays high.

It's not the school that makes the school, it's the students. "Life is what YOU make it," not what life makes itself.

I went to Northeastern University yesterday, and OMG is that place AWESOME!!! It so whips UMASS's ass!! Well, first I arrived and went to their cool amphetheater thing that was huge and awesome. Then I went to the chemical engineering fluid dynamics lab for a smile synthesis experiment. OMG, just that one lab is bigger than my house, and has more plumbing than one of those water amusement parks! They have one of the biggest mixers in the country, it's HUGE! After that, I went to the main engineering building, Snell Research Center, and went to the mechanical engineering place to make bridges; that was ok, we didn't really get to see anything, it was in the basement. Then we went up to the computer engineering center to the processor research lab. OMG, it was amazing, it's in a clean room, so we had to suit up. They took us around those whole complex; we made 2 processor wafers. Each person got to do one job, I got to use UV lasers to etch the wire design into the wafers, kickass! It's quite amazing how they make them. I walked around to more labs, they have everything from antigravity physics labs (one of the professors for chemical engineering is in the Internation Space Station RIGHT NOW doing experiments) to earthquake simulators, to radioactive gas labs, to EVERYTHING. And the quality of everything was amazing, DEFINITELY not like UMASS's tiles peeling off the walls! Northeastern was definitely impressive, so far #2 on my list, but I still have to check out WPI's labs.
