The origin of Jebus and Aspartame Kills.

I think I know where Paul stole calling Jesus, Jebus. I believe he got it from the Simpsons episode where Homer escapes from a PBS pledge mob, and becomes a missionary. In several scenes in that episode, he crys out for "Jebus."

Oh and I figured out why VI had the "aspartame kills" banner for a while. In the music video by System of a Down, called Sugar, it flashes "aspartame kills." Since VI is a big System fan, I would guess this is where he stole the idea.

Not that any of this matters, I just thought some of you might want to know. :)

and there's a jebusislord.com website that Paul had in his signature for a while.

... this thread reminds me, like everyone is becoming a Buddhist. That girl I was talking about in the LG thread is taking World Religion in college and she said that she's a buddhist now. She said it in passing so I don't know if she was serious or just saying it for the shock value or if she just likes their lifestyle ... I don't know, it just kind of irks me when people change their religion on a whim. That means they're never really a part of any religion because they never really commit. Oh well... blathering blatherskites

For some reason I hate the idea of "committing" in religious context. It's as if one carries analytical content of particular religion and decides to be critical after that comparison, then automatically that person has no committement. It's one of the hallmark of fanaticism.

but then again I am from the school of "there is no such think as "faith" except 'acted upon blind devotion'. And religion is nothing more then a rather inflexible ideological system.

I mean commit to a religion as: when the religion you subscribe to runs into a road block educate yourself and seek the answer within your own religion before dropping it and hitting the next most popular bandwagon.
Not committing as in, your religion has to be right regardless of everything and everyone else has to be a nazi if they don't agree.

Questioning your own beliefs is key. Some people never question their own beliefs and just take it as blind faith and thus their faith never grows. Others never question it because as soon as there is a snag they drop it all together.
What one should do is question why there was a snag in the first place, or why your beliefs have to be right even in the face of contrary evidence. That's the key to growth.
