ABS

ABS

I've been looking at desktop from ABS (except 2.6ghz upgrade, 128mb GeForce 4 MX upgrade, Creative Inspire speaker upgrade, Soundblaster Audigy upgrade (can't afford the Audigy 2 updgrade)) shipped for $1200. I don't care about how cheap it would be if I built it myself, because I'm not going to, and I never will. I just want to know if they're a good company, and if that's a good price for what I'm getting (compared to other similar computers). BTW, if I get this one, it'll be the silver case. Don't get me wrong, I love blue and all, but I think that's overdoing it a bit (kinda like the lime green alienware laptops).

I religiously check them before buying anything nowadays. Judging from that, I'd go for it.

The Wal-Mart PCs really don't need a processor upgrade, it's RAM, 5400RPM HD and the vid card that are the killers.

Cyber Power has hella lot better tech support than ABS, but to date, I've only called tech support once on a computer, and that was when we got our first one, and it froze up (Windows 3.1). I'm not too concerned about HD speeds, as I just want it for websurfing, and the occasional game (but I still want the latest technology, as I'll prolly have it for another 4-5 years). Are any of the graphics cards that they list any good? If not what one would you recommend me getting (within reason, I'm not going to need a fancy new 400 dollar graphics card with TV Out and all the other neat little doodads).
