Cellular cards with IPAQ???

Cellular cards with IPAQ???

Postby jacob600 » Apr 30, 2003 @ 6:53am

Has anyone tried either the AT&T or Sprint cellular cards on their IPAQ? I was curous to how well these worked. Also, does anyone have any insight as to whether HP will make an IPAQ with an integrated cellular chipset. Thanks.

Sprints CDMA 2000 cards are excelent... i use it for software demos at work on my laptop and my coworker has used it on his iPaq. The draw backs include... CRAPY CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! sprint sucks when it comes to getting things to work. The service is sort of fast but for wireless it is not bad. also their coverage is so far so good for me. ewverywhere i have gone with it it has worked. Sprint also can give an unlimited sized data bucket -- as they call it -- which can come in handy but that is a hefty $100 (i think) a month. I don't have to pay so I don't care.

If you plan on using anything but windows ever: I have not got the sprint card working under ANY non microsoft environment. AT&T has great service also and the coverage is slightly smaller but as my experience goes: AT&T has better overall service.

In the end the smartest thing to do is research what is available and match them to you needs.
1 + 1 = 3 for large values of 1.
Now clean of all Crash code :)
