Blah, Blah, Blah.
You know what i think?
Epod/XPod/EpodXP, well you know, the project to get a wince 2.11 shell in the BE300 was just wonderful. It was started by someone who really liked to help the BE users to enjoy a better GUI. his name CButters.
Then suddenly, came a guy called Goo, who i will admit he did a great job improving CButters epodXP.
The main problem started when he began to ask a "Donation" or i would better call it "an Obligated Donation" where users must donate to get access to new versions of epod hack. He transformed the word "Donate" which means "To gift, to give, by will" to "must give to get". That way he started to evade copyrights since officially he "IS NOT" selling software, but you know what the obligated donation is. he was making business, selling of the software with lots of utilities by other authors, including wince 2.11 shell (still copyrighted by M$?) and even the idea of epod hack wasnt from him, but CButters
Still, the way he gave access to the members (guys who donated) was so silly. After donation is made, you must mail him and tell you have donated. I just created a new hotmail account, mailed him saying "hey Goo, i have donated, good job, btw". He replied telling me my membership and password to access to members area. Too easy if you ask.
Until then, i didnt have any problems since i could access to the newest software releases without have made a donation
The problem came when he splited the BE300 community into 2, Goo's followers (donation guys) and antidonation guys. It was by that time when some developers started to release software for the BE300 since eXpod was too famous (it even appeared in Handango, some games and applications say: Compatible with e125, Maestro, blh, blah, and Be300 with eXpod 5.1). Those were applications written for wince 3.0 or compatible with PPC.
But was when Dan really made an application for BE300, written for BE300 (not for PPC and BE300 gets the compatibility by eXPOD).
Some developers, including Dan, started to notice that the way eXPOd is installed, by making backup restoration and sharing .bin files, might be a way to share not just a GUI, but also a way to warez some applications like DEXplor.
Goo knew that if that info is rumored, the whole empire would come down to ashes. he started to ban people, delete and close threads related with.
simple uh? it was too good that by those times of troubles, i got my h1910 and since then i dont worry about what the future of the BE300 will be.
