Or maybe they hate him/them cuz he/they suck(s). He used to be a solo deal, and if you ask me, whiny acoustic faux-emo shite should be done solo; the more band members, the worse it gets. He has some good melodies and some catchy songs, but he negates it with being a whiny bitch who sucks. Forgettable, but not the worst.
[edit] So I present an alternative instead of just bitching, here you go: Elliot Smith. Get stuff off of S/T or Either/Or for more simple acoustic-folk-ish singer/songwriter stuff, and get stuff off of XO for a more upbeat, Beatles-esque approach to it. Translation: it doesn't suck like some Chris Carrabas we know.
