Okay, the last two weeks my car has been emitting a high pitched wurrr after it hits 2,5 RPMs and gets louder and higher pitched the higher the RPMs go. My gas mileage has also dropped significantly. I never, NEVER got below 30MPG, now for the last two weeks I can't get above 25! I don't know what the problem could be. Something could be blocking the air intake box and the ECU is compensating by enriching the gasoline ratio in the formula. That's the best I could come up with. I looked under the hood to see if there was just some THING visibly around the intake but couldn't see anything at glance and I was late for work. Does anyone else have any ideas as to what could be wrong? I'll have to look at it tonight after it cools down from the drive home.

Or maybe there's something wrong in the gasoline line, maybe it's leaking or something and the ECU is compensating by sucking more air in?

Maybe I should just buy that new AEM v2 intake ...

Moose, dont not start putting after market shit on your car...it makes it sound pretty and all but I have done that with my MINI and it is all fucked up. I put a Magnaflow exhaust on the car and it killed my low end power and makes the whole car vibrate. I am putting the stock back on today and hope it helps. By the way the MINI gets 37 mpg. :D

I really don't like that loud junk. I'd like my car to be quiet if at all possible.

But any idea what the problem may be?

Could be something to do with the ECU? Do you have a supercharger?
