Ok maybe I don't understand, what does "shutdown -a" do?

I assumed it shut down all processes.

hmmm i just discovered that i have the msblast.exe process running, which i suppose means im infected, but i haven't had any problems. I think maybe a week ago copy and paste didn't work but a reboot fixed that, and then every once in a while i wake up to find my comp rebooted for some mysterious reason
I think i'll keep it just for show.

If I hadn't have gone to close a stupid adware program and noticed msblast.exe, i never would have known i had it. It hasnt done shit.
