You reserved your 10/10 for Tatu? Please. What if you had never seen them make out in their music video? I doubt they even write their own music.

[edit] If you can call it music.

Yeah I didn't like their music when I heard it first, and then I thought the video of them making out was lame.

*edit* fixed my typo

My 10/10 for t.A.T.u. is in no form based on their image nor videos (they're probably bi anyway), it's based soley on the music, it is truely the best Europop I've ever heard, being in a different language makes it even more interesting, and it's just great stuff! Most pop music (not that I listen to any...) is crap, it's all similar, with NO emotion (emotion meaning melancholy), and it's all the same lyrics. t.A.T.u. is MUCH different, not that you can understand the lyrics, but you don't need to, because of how well the music conveys the emotion and mood. Also, basically ALL of their songs are awesome and offer something different. That is why I give them a 10/10. The only other CDs I've given it to are Mushroomhead - XX, and MuDvAyNe - LD50.

Oh, and not to mention that Yulia Volkova (the blackhaired one) is like, the hottest chic in the universe, seriously. 8)

I really like Jack Johnson's new album called On & On. According to walmart his music is "mellow pop" but I don't see that. I had never really heard anything by him but I found out he is friends with G. Love and the Special Sauce (one of my favorite bands.) Give his cd a try if you want.

Yeah, did you know kenna is a black dude? I saw something where he talked about his video and it took me by surprise. His song is alright.

Jack Johnson has some good songs for sure, but his downfall comes in that everything he does sounds the same. I'd pretty much agree with the 'mellow pop' nomenclature... Have you ever heard Brushfire Fairytales? That's definitely mellow.

Warren, if you want real emotion, download something like Radiohead - Street Spirit (Fade Out), Modest Mouse - Talking Shit About a Pretty Sunset, Dismemberment Plan - Spider in the Snow, anything by Mogwai (they define melancholy), or anything by Elliot Smith. And remember that there are more emotions than melancholy and those emotions can be expressed over something more than cheap power chords and drum machines that someone else wrote.

I had recently purchased three CDs, after listening through a few times, here are my preliminary thoughts:

Lacuna Coil - Comalies
This CD is FANTASTIC, basically every single song on here, from front to back, is fantastic, every single is unique, catchy, fully emotional, and you know how you can listen to a CD and pick out 1 or 2 songs that they'll make a video for? Not this one, because EVERY song is that good. Is it 10/10? Well, I don't think so, they're not "new" and fully innovative, it's just the best of their genre.

Mushroomhead - XIII
This CD so far has been overall disappointing. The previous release, XX, I gave a perfect 10, but this one? No. Well, not yet at least. On XX, all the songs were extremely unorthodox and entirely new. Songs like 43, Bwomp, and Chancre Sore, were like no other song in existence. On XIII...all the songs sounds basically the same. Compared to XX, there's very little keyboard sound effects, no "immature" vocals (like on Never Let It Go, with the screaming pig noises), no cool intros (like in Bwomp), and basically monotonous. All the guitars and bass sounds the same in all the songs, and the vocals too. There was a song on XX, These Filthy Hands, which used a lot of piano and bivocal mix. It seems like ALL the songs on XIII were modeled on just this one song. ALL the songs feature piano with a bivocal melody, and all sound like actual "songs". Mushroomhead is supposed to be new, I mean, ever heard a heavy smetal song with xylophone? That would be Solitaire/Unraveling. The lyrics seem "structured" now...unlike the previous release, which had parts of completely random words that didn't even make phrases. A lot of the songs are also too death metal like, with heavy bass drum and stuff. This is only my preliminary thoughts, so it may change. I'll have to listen more, but it's just fusterating...
*EDIT* Well, I just read a ton of reviews on Amazon, and basically all 28 reviews gave it a 5/5, many saying that XIII is better than XX. I'll have to listen to this thing intensely, I've only listened to it while driving. War Inside is really good, so is Mother Machine Gun, and Eternity.

Darkest Hour - Hidden Hands of a Sadist Nation
I haven't listened to this one much, but it seems good. It delivers what I wanted, insanity, and they do it well. I'll still have to listen to this one more. The songs are really long though, 5 minutes each.
