Yes... "my real passion is with God". *Retch*.
But you know what pisses me off? Parents who indoctrinate religion into their children. (This next bit is a bit long winded since it's also a blog post, but meh.)
I was at a friend's house, deeply religious, the sort who says a three hour grace before meals.
Anyway, her eight year old kid was there, with a plastic sabre-toothed tiger tight in his grip. The kid followed me and pressing the tiger into my personal space he demanded, "Aren't you really scared of my lion?"
"Sorry to be pedantic, but it's actually a sabre toothed tiger." He looked blank. "Haven't you seen Ice Age?" He shook his head.
"Anyway, don't worry, they were like dinosaurs and they're extinct too."
I left him to fill up on the (naturally) alcohol free punch when he piped up, "May the Lord forgive you." "What?"
"We don't believe in dinosaurs. They're all pretend. The Lord created Adam and Eve, domestic animals and a few wild ones. Dinosaurs are the invention of heathens to try and undermine Creation."
I couldn't quite believe what I was hearing... an eight year old was questioning the existence of evolution.
I mean, what gives the mother the right to make her child believe something so absolutely ludicrous? It's disgusting.
Crosswind technique: "Using your peripheral vision, react to body movements, gasps, groans, and shouts from the other side of the cockpit, and always remember that it's better to be lucky than good."
