You MIPS people can thank Randall Schleufer for lending me a MIPS device. His E-125 arrived in the mail today, and coincidentally a working MIPS build arrived at the website a few hours later. :)

http://wolf.pocketmatrix.com

Dan East

*Gives Dan a big wet kiss*

I'll download it now and respond right here Dan!!

Dan, I have some urgent news. I just saw on PlanetWolfenstein, that someone is writing (or already wrote) Wolfenstein 3D for OpenGL. Go to or directly to the site, it is called "NewWolf" - I don't know if this will help, but it is interesting.

SHUT UP PAUL!! Wolfenstein 3D is, was, and always shall be the greatest game of all time! It is the father of all first person shooters!

Dan, it is simply wonderful. It is funny how the secret doors open, but that's ok. Also, one other bug is that the screen don't go red when you die, but again, that's only a tiny thing. But it really needs sound! I kept dying so many times, and I didn't even know I was being shot at. Perhaps this "NewWolf" is help in solving the sound problem. *Gives Dan another big wet kiss, with plenty of tongue ;-)* THANKS SO MUCH DAN!!

When you die it uses a "fizzle fade" effect to fade to red. That's not implemented yet. I'll take a look at the OpenGL port. I wonder how the authoer of that port can GPL the source when it is really id Software's, and they did not GPL it?

I think my wife would be rather upset about that last comment. :)

Dan East

nhl 96? your a moron. I can't put it any better than that. Yeah there are a ton of nhl 96 fan sites still around, lol. I agree with Warren sound is half the fun of wolf but cut Dan a break he's working as fast as he can, AND FOR FREE!

Actually, Wolfenstein is a very fun game, even if the graphics are crude by todays standards. On a tiny PPC screen they look great, the color palette is bright so you can see (unlike Doom and Quake)and the framerate is perfecto.

I had to force myself to put it down because I REALLY have work to do.
