Van Halen or Aerosmith

I know people way younger then me who listen to it. Whats funny is most of the people I know hate the modern day music you'd expect people our age to listen to. I'm in the middle, I mostly like older 70s - 80s bands, but there are a bunch of modern ones I like too.

same here....for the most part 70s & 80s music (even some older than that). I've seen both of these bands (Areosmith & VH). Infact, I saw VH on their first US tour back in the 70s. But now the price of tickets to see anything worthwhile is just plain ridiculous for where I'd want to sit (more like stand). VH has a deal going where seats in the first 10 rows are something like $400. Sorry VH, just can't do it. I'm just glad I was able to see a lot of the bands (too numerous to list) back when I had spare change in my pocket. Now it seems there are a lot of reunion tours going on with these bands probably so we can pay for their retirement!!

Yeah, the ticket prices are ridiculous. I've noticed that all the older bands like these that I really want to see are very expensive, and the newer bands I don't really care if I see are cheap, which is kind of frustrating. Last tour the Aerosmith tickets were about $140 both times I saw them, cause it was the double tour with them and KISS, but still $140 for one night was ridiculous, although I paid it cause I just love Aerosmith. Didn't care much for KISS though. I wanted to go to the MSG show too, but they wanted $175 for that one, for ONE ticket, so that one I skipped. This tour with just Aerosmith its down to about $70, a bit more reasonable but still high. And Van Halen wants $90. Although the good news is I see they added a second day for NJ so I can now see Aero and VH
