Warren: Let's compare laptops in a year, mine may be more plain, but I can guarantee you yours will look like a wreck if you use it daily. I choose hardware based on price and performance, not whether it's made out of plastic or aluminum.

Fine, but Voodoos are made precisely for reliability. I just got an update today, it's in the "gathering parts" phase. They aren't detailed in their updates... I don't know if they even painted it yet. Nonetheless, it's still on schedule, I just wish I knew more about that schedule.

I'm sure the hardware will be OK, but the paint job and how it looks externally won't. Kinda like the iPod, it's sexy, but it scratches easy.

As long as I'm reasonably careful (which I will be, I'll be hoarding this thing), the paint should be fine. It's also much less suseptible to scratching with a nice coat of wax.
