Warning: Sasser Virus

Warning: Sasser Virus

Postby Chad » May 7, 2004 @ 8:08am

I'm sure that most of you know about this already, but I've been hit by B, C, and D versions of the virus in the last hour. Be careful, it creates tasks over and over agian and uses up all your memory, causing the computer to do a forced restart.

Just a heads up to anyone who was unaware. Go to Windows Update and get their weekly patch  .

I did I clean install of Windows XP about 2 weeks ago, and before I could get to the Windows Update site I'd already been infected by the Blaster worm. It's still out there. I wonder how many people just disabled the "Reboot on service fail" option and left it running?
