I think you both had your points. There certainly are some significant subcultures in Palestine that I think should be classified as "murderous band[s] of criminals and terrorists". Hamas and Hezbollah, are two famous examples. They, of course, need to be killed.
Israel has made the situation a lot worse; Palestinians are essentially second class citizens, which doesn't help things.
Overall, the situation is a mess. I'm glad I don't have to deal with it.
