Mac or pc? As a student I can get the payments on a mac down to like $11 a month for a pretty decent 12" powerbook. This is strictly for school, i'm going to sell my pocket pc... I'm tired of it's lack of usefulness. Anyone know of a better deal than that mac... or should i say screw mac because they're unuseful in the first place. i don't care how crappy this post is worded gramatically, it's late and i'm just doing it anyways.

Get a nice lappie from TigerDirect, they are cheap and warrantied. Mac's are dead useless because most of the teachers on a college campus have Windows based computers and networks. Besides, you can actually use your old software on your new computer with a Windows based lappie.

Dell Foldable Keyboard

Go to www.motioncomputing.com and check out the M1300. They give a 10-15% student discount off of the $1500 pricetag but you have to specifically ask for it, either in email or over the phone. I'm not sure if they finance or not, but you could put it on a credit card and just pay off your card slowly.

I'm a Tablet fan, you knew it was coming.

If you just want something portable and cheap, check out Dell. I'd suggest NOT an Apple. They're cool, but I don't think I could actually use one to work on.

Well i used one for a night a couple days ago... and i really like the interface, it's intuitive and really easy to switch between programs and whatnot. Remember, i don't need power or anything, just a small laptop that's good for taking notes. I finally admit, a pocket pc isn't the right fit for me at all. The screen's to small, the application selection is limited and well i just need to be able to format notes better than pocket word allows. tablets are just too expensive for what they're worth. I know you're a tablet guy and I think it'd be awesome to have one, but with a 12" powerbook... do you really think that's going to make me feel 'impersonal' to the teacher? And, apple's are cute, i won't look like such a geek with one. Also, I am starting my junior year of college I have finished all my note taking classes that require any form of drawing or diagrams. I'm a poli. sci. major and I hate writing, so I need something with a keyboard. A tablet just isn't the right solution for me.

Just get the Apple and get over it. It's a wonderful toy. You will love it. You only live once. Go.
