Well it's from the musical Avenue Q, which just won the Tony awards for Best Book and Lyrics, Best Score, AND Best Musical.

I personally don't see what's wrong with the rhymes, though... the only possible problem with them I can see is that the way "today" is sung in the song the emphasis is on the first syllable, making it an imperfect rhyme with all of the other single-syllable words
