I have a void.

I have a void.

I can't ever think straight anymore. I feel empty and I don't like the feeling. I know that it has to do with what happened earlier, but how do you get around something like this? I went to six flags with a few of my closest friends because they new I've had a hard time with this. I'll post a picture later that i will never lose. but this is a serious question. I havent been thinking clearly. Just today I pulled out in front of a car that i definitly should not of. And i backed into my mailbox. I know its not because of my driving skills because i passed my dmv test with flying colors. What can I do to restore myself to my past? I just want to feel happy again.

In time, you will. You can't expect to get over someone so close to you in such a short period. The saying is true though: "Time heals all wounds". You'll never be exactly as you were, but you will move on and fall into your old ways eventually. No-one can really say for a fact how long it will take you, as everyone copes in different ways. I know some people that have been able to get over their best friend dieing in a week and a half, and others who could have someone that they were only casual acquantances with die and it take them 3 weeks to get over. The bottom line is that death affects us all in different ways, and while you will return to your old ways, no-one can tell you how long it will take.

Only you know what will make you happy again. Just try new things and get your mind off of your troubles. Relax. If you are currently working a lot right now, then take some time off. Perhaps you need a vacation out of the ordinary....you know...go somewhere far away. Or find a new hobby or something. Maybe take up an instrument. Music soothes the soul.

Organic Superlube? Oh, it's great stuff, great stuff. You really have to keep an eye on it, though--it'll try and slide away from you the first chance it gets.

Snobbery Level 1: "It was better in the past."
Snobbery Level 2: "I listen to independent music."

Since I out-snob you, I hereby proclaim that you need to listen to better music.

And apathy is stupid. I used to have pretty bad anger problems (huge temper) and would tell myself I had stopped caring, but I never really did. The point, and I'm improving but still can't uphold this doctrine 100%, is to put it all in perspective and realize that all you're doing is damaging yourself and others. Depression is a very selfish thing. It hurts those you love more than you.

So you can do all these benevolent round-about solutions, or you can pick yourself up by your bootstraps and realize that you're not the only one in the world with problems.

That being said, I don't know exactly what happened to you, and I'm not trying to trivialize your problems. But I've been through some trying times, too, and it gives you a sense of pride to be able to carry on without being all depressed.
The fates lead him who will;
Him who won't, they drag.
