Organic Superlube? Oh, it's great stuff, great stuff. You really have to keep an eye on it, though--it'll try and slide away from you the first chance it gets.

Realizing, of course, that you need an FFL to own a fully automatic weapon (with or without the assault rifle ban, which has nothing to do with automatic weapons)...just a point before people start saying they fired something there is no way they could have fired. :)

I've fired:
M-16 (qualified expert every time 39/40)
M-60 (qualified expert twice, sharpshooter once)
M-249 (SAW)
50 Cal mounted
Mark 19 semi-auto grenade launcher

All of 'em are tough to control after the first few rounds except the M-16, which is now 3 round burst anyway...so it hardly matters that it used to be easy.

Let's get back to talking about why Bush is awesome--all the other shit aside (he's a fundy, I'm not).

1) Tort reform. I really hope he manages this. Of course, I'd be wary about entering a job market (I'm thinking about law school) that's saturated with unemployed tort lawyers. Not because I don't think I can compete: salaries will fall.

2) He cuts taxes (given that it hasn't been done wisely when spending is taken into consideration) and wants tax reform. Hopefully he doesn't make it even more lame. I'm mulling the idea of a flat tax over in my head. The pooling of wealth is a bad thing, but so is a shitty economy.

3) Realizes that we are not Europe. The United States has its own national identity. The world is a very open place; if you don't like it here, then move elsewhere.

On to why Bush is not awesome...

1) He's a fundy. Abortion and gay marriage. Let's hope that none of the liberal justices die while Bush is in office.

2) He's a spendy. A lot of his new ideas come with hefty price tags. Pulling these numbers from the latest BusinessWeek:

a) 70 billion for Iraq in 2005.
b) Tax cuts cut government revenues by 1.9 trillion over a decade. Great if accompanied by cuts in spending. Cutting the AMT could cost 600 billion over a decade. That's a total of 2.5 trillion dollars.
c) A transition to a partially privatized social security system could cost anywhere between one and two trillion dollars.
d) MEDICARE! 400 billion plus over a decade and growing!
3) The deficit. With all that Bush wants to do, this will only get wors.

4) Spendy fundyism is a bad thing, and I'm really hoping that this doesn't remain the predominant dogma among Republicans.

I think Bush is too addicted to spending. Hope I'm wrong. It would be really nice to have a Congress and President that would say "fuck this shit" and examine and kill spending bill by bill.

While I'm complaining, I'd also like to see the news networks get their shit together.
Truth is a possession.

How can you lump Iraq into that? And how can you say that Iraq is Bush's fault? I don't understand the rationale for that.

John Kerry was also against gay marriage

Yeah, Kerry was against gay marriage, something every seems to like to forget.

And you can't blame Bush for Iraq. He acted on what information he had. Everyone thought it was right at the time, it's not his fault that he did the right thing based on what was thought to be correct.
