Israel IS a first-world country if you don't count the West Bank.

The standing with Israel thing, that basically means "Israel is going to exist, so suck it". The Palestinians' purpose is to destroy Israel, many of the Arab nations, like Iran, do not even recognize the existance of the State of Israel. Today on CNN, they showed a Palestinian girl on her father's shoulders waving a nazi flag...

Yes, but they're not waging a war (oh sorry, "conflict"...) against Israel right now. The girl with the nazi flag shows that the Palestinians (at least many of them) consider the war a holy war against Jews (ie jihad), while the Israelis are fighting it like more like a political war.
