Build your own XGA computer projector?

Build your own XGA computer projector?

Postby RedruM » Dec 6, 2004 @ 10:27am

well I always wanted to use my 52" HDTV as a monitor, but something I found fulfills this need and indeed takes it that step further into yes, projector monitors, but by using a totally different approach.

By using only an LCD monitors LCD screen, and laying it overtop an overhead projector (like the ones common in schools), you can create a good quality XGA (1024x768 or more) Projector, also using this method you get many advantages like much lower costs (total costs around 300 compared to 2000 8O), and cheaper replacement bulbs.

Now I can have that complete entertainment center with my computer hooked up to a projector displaying a wall sized image I've always dreamed of, and using my computer as the media center to play games, DVDs, MP3s, TV (with a TV-in card), and any other kind of media on a computer.

The question is do I (or any of us) have the balls to pull off something like this :?: Sounds easy but I always have my doubts, I'm sure some people may have spare parts like these lying around but unfortunatly I'm not one of them (althought I might know someone who does).
