There may be something else wrong with your PC. You can usually fill your HD completly full and it should still boot.

It's hard to tell what could be wrong without actually checking out your PC, but from your description I would think it's a driver or service issue. LKGC booting sometimes does not roll back new services. is a great resource for boot utilities.

If you have another PC on your network you may be able to connect to the malfunctioning machines computer management MMC (without having to log in to the bad PC) and view the event viewer, that would probably tell you exactly what's going on.

Thedoric, you're exactly right. I went out today and bought another 160 gb disk, and installed it as a slave. However, I've figured out not that the problem is that I've overloaded the disk, its that my motherboard doesnt even recognize that the disks are there anymore. Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can get my motherboard to recognize the disks? I really can't figure this out, and I hope to god its not a problem with either my original 80 gb drive or my motherboard. The problem is, once I started reaching my space limit, my computer got slower and slower until the point that it locked, and I had to cut the power to the power supply. I may have fried something doing that...

Instead of installing them master/slave, try them both on cable select. Depending on what board you have, make sure that the drive(s) are plugged into the correct IDE header.
