My assumption is that you have an older XBox like the rest of us, and that you are getting the now notorious "my xbox got old and started to overheat all the time" issue.

Leave it off for at least an hour, probably more. Then turn it on without a game in it and start transfering your shit to a mem card.

Almost everyone I know with an XBox has had this problem within the last 6 months. It happened to me 12 hours into Fable...I believe I too said "fucking fuck fuckers!!!"

Crazy... a PS2? They just don't make them like they used to these days.

I mean, sure, we don't have to blow into the dirty cartridges when you have junk on the screen anymore... but at least my NES still works.
