To jcl945 and others that might be interested,
a sacrament is the visible sign of God's invisible grace for us. the latin word "sacramentum" is a translation of the greek word "mysterion".
I think that I don't need to point out verses of the Bible that talk about baptism, mariage, priesthood, forgiveness of sins...
Protestants and catholics have been flamming each others for quite a long time and most of them still are though silently (I admit I was one of them), contradicting Christ words "Love each others". I think it is time for us to move on and concentrate on what unites use, Christ, rather that on what devides us. We will then give a much better example of Christ infinite love and be much more attractive to others.
Of course that doesn't mean that we can't discuss our differences, but we should do it respectfully, in order to know each others. Because ignorance leads to fear and fear leads to evil.
