:( anything yet? Almost a year now and decided to bump it on the day the PSP is released as I want to play games on my pocket pc even more!

A few pages back the developer mentioned that they are having difficulty with the ir, can you just release what you have (maybe a controller adapter+IR thing hanging out) and let us be creative with it?

Otherwise open source perhaps? I figure the hardware and software is already done but just needs building so perhaps distribute the data to a few others who can build and sell for you?

Currently really hating my dpad and the lack of dell accessories.

From my searching, I am pretty sure NES and SNES controllers operate off a parallel interface and not a serial interface.

If you do manage to get the controllers to operate via serial, you do have some driver options... namely the Zeta gamepad drivers and the Gravis stinger gamepad drivers.

But from what I recall in the experiments people were trying, they were unable to get a gravis gamepad to operate on a Axim X5 through a serial cable with and without the max232 chip in the line.

The only real ray of hope I see is in this IR pad or http://www.gamestop.com/product.asp?product_id=801842 bluetooth pad. The reason for this and not the one they showed off at Cebit or whatever tech convention is because they actually have the product out. The only problem is we dont have drivers nor do we have any idea how this interfaces. But considering that they said its bluetooth, we can hope its a bluetooth dongle on the xbox end and normal HID driver support unless they are cruel and unusual and use a properity bluetooth data xfer system of which I dont think will qualify to be bluetooth.

Basically the interface hardware is complete. I just made some finishing touches last week, and the adapter is working perfectly with Sony / MadCatz brand controllers.

The holdup has been some sort of clip for attaching the IR LED to the PPC. As some people have stated, that is something they're willing to manage on their own (duct tape anyone?). So my plan is to start selling just the adapter with an IR dongle that the user is responsible for mounting.

I had some initial complaints of lag by my beta testers. It was an extremely small lag - we're talking about a hundred milliseconds at most. I've doubled the polling frequency of the hardware, so it is polling the controller at 60 Hz, which is how often actual PSX hardware polls the controllers. That seems to have taken care of the lag issue.

:D *celebrates*

haha yay!
I think I would wrap a wire around the IR thing so it would make like a GBA worm light flexible/bendable/yet stay in shape bended thing :)

oh this is great news indeed. what kind of battery does it run on? can u change the types of batteries used? i would prefer watch/calculator batteries rather than the larger AA or even AAA batteries.
also, is there a switch to turn it on and off? and does the driver allow button customization, say, to map to keyboard buttons if i wanted to?

thanks.
