If I actually had money, I'd run out and get a PS2, GT4 and a nice wheel this very second.

Lately I've stopped playing games for the most part. I used to spend much of my free time but now... meh. I think the last time I touched BF1942 (pretty much the only game I play now) was about 2 weeks ago. I guess that's a good thing.

RTS is a genre. RTS games are generic.

To pick Starcraft out of a group of games that are very similar and specifically saying that it's generic implies that some others are not.

You've now got people rehashing the AoE formula. What's the difference? Last time I checked, SC sold a bajillion copies. Why? Because it was fun; moreso than the other RTSs at the time.

And the AoE formula is what? Extra micromanaging of your city? Replacing units that perform the same role with units further down the tech tree in these civ games is akin to upgrading a unit in SC.

And lets face it. The Protoss were the coolest fuckers in any RTS ever.
