Which one?

Which one?

Postby RICoder » Aug 1, 2001 @ 5:13pm

Not that this hasn't been asked a HUNDRED times...

I am buying a new PPC, and I thought I'd get feedback on what everyone thinks.

It's really between the Casio and the @migo. Thought Casio is putting out a new one in September I heard. So do I wait or what?

Yeah, I wasn't clear enough...I got called to a brief meeting while I was writing the post.

What I want to start a conversation on is the new stuff coming out. I read about the Microsoft Web Tablet (which I like, I would rather have a clio running PPC than what I have now), and the new PPCs by Toshiba et al. So, my thinking is that I will wait, but I have no hard dates on what is coming and when, so I thought I would spring up a conversation and see where it goes...

Get the @migo. It's the best.
The new Toshiba is good, and the e550 MD comes with a microdrive (built in?). But the @migo is better. Who needs an SD card slot? And CF is nothign compared to PC Cards.

That's my point too. If you have a PC Card, than CF is a given, since they have adapters. I would want that because I have 128, 64, 40, and 8 meg cards. I use them constantly.

Now, what comes to mind are 3 important things (in order)
1) Internal RAM/ROM
2) Speed
3) Flashable ROM

I would only wait if I saw a significant increase in speed and storage.

Casio is the best I have had yet. The 16Bit display is a HUGE plus. I went to the Casio outlet near me, and the guy there said the new one is due out in Sept or Oct. Also they had their little Win98 tablet jobber there...it's pretty cool too.

Just get the @migo. Nothing better is coming out soon enough to make you wait. I'm thinking of handing my Casio over to my mom and buy an @migo for myself since it's only $500.

A Kingston CF to PC Card converter will only set you back b/w $10-$13. @migo is the best deal.

Jo/Yagger/whoever... I've seen you post one person flames in about 3 threads now, two of which you started. No one is buying into your juvenile tactics. We're slightly mature here. So if you could kindly stop that would be great.

And Chuck, if we could just have you move your desk down to the basement that would be great. We've got some boxes coming in and need some extra room. *Eyes red stapler* And I'll just take that. Greeaaattttt...
