Headphones 2!

Headphones 2!

Postby ulrichpeter » Mar 17, 2002 @ 2:47am

I also want to buy new headphones and my questionis:

Is it possible that I can use headphones with a remote control on the cable, because it sucks that I always must open my case to control the volume etc.

I've got a Compaq IPAQ 3850

Thanks for all help!

I've remember seeing a pair of PPC remote control earphones advertised, but think it may only have been for a Casio PPC. I'm not sure if there is one available for Ipaqs, i think Compaq would've needed to include support for it on the headphone jack, unless it used another method.

The casio e200 has software built into the opperating system to handle the remotecontroll headphones. I don't know if IPAQs will work, but I imagine that you could design a piece of software to make them work.

Are you sure that software could be written to support remote-control headphones. I've always thought that they had a third 'ring' on the plug (rings normally used for audio signal - mono earphones have one, stereo have two) used for sending data from the remote buttons. Wouldn't the Ipaq's headphone jack need to have metal contacts for the third 'ring' in order to receive the data?

The Toshiba E570 also supports headphone volume control.

yeah, the e-125 would prolly crash, considering it doesnt support it. duh.

the e-200 and em500, possibly the be-300, are the only casios that support it.
