Firearms

Yesterday (Sunday), I had a Police Explorers meeting, and guess what we did! Well, if you read the subject, you'd know that I went to a firing range!! Well, it wasn't a firing range, it was a field. It was raining really bad, and really cold, so we didn't get to do much, but we're going to go out again soon. I did get to fire 2 guns though. The first was a small 8-round rifle. Simple and really low kick-back, fairly accurate (we couldn't see where we were shooting, it was a big muddy mess). Then the real gun. I GOT TO SHOT, ON FULLY AUTOMATIC, A H&K U.M.P. 45!! The UMP is an automatic submachinegun. Here's a pic-. It fires at 700r/min. It is SOOOOO good!! The adreneline that flows is insane! At first, I fired a burst of about 10-15 bullets, and it kicked up into the air (not as much as other people!). Then I shot two more bursts holding it tightly, and I hit the target perfectly, but quite low, but the Sergent told me to aim low. He said I have excellent control of the gun. He doesn't have much control, he emptied a whole 30 round clip at the target and barely hit it. I would say that shooting a gun, especially a kickass UMP, for the first time is comparable to losing one's virginity. Yes, I sound like a crazed maniac, but IT IS SO MUCH FUN!! There is just SOO much power if these things! When you're holding this little submachinegun, you don't think it would be that hard, but then you pull the trigger, and it's an insane adreneline rush! Shooting a gun makes you realize how frickin' dangerous they are, just so much power. The police also brought an M4 assault rifle (very small compact assault rifle, but VERY loud and VERY accurate, sooo nice. The UMP is fairly loud, but not that bad at all), a few M16 machineguns, a Benelli 90 tactical shotgun, a bunch of .44 Glock pistols, and a few .22 revolvers. They had some long rifles and snipers, but didn't bring them. We only got to do the small rifle and UMP, but we'll be going back to have competitions. The Sergent did say I have excellent control, and believe me, it's hard to make him say something like that. He was mostly calling people maniacs when they lose control of the SMG. Like one of the officers said, "shooting is like a shot of herion, once to do it for the first time, you can't stop". So true...I couldn't fall asleep last night because I was still so excited. Sorry Randall, I'm too lazy to put it into paragraphs now.

Well, I am excited, and what's wrong about being enthusiantic? I'm not going to run around shooting anybody!! And no, I did not jack off *sigh*...

Oh, and don't start saying guns are penal extentions like cars. Ugh.

And no, I'm not going to join the NRA! I'm not in favor of making guns completely legal to civilians. I'm just saying they're fun to shot at a target, and what's wrong with that?
