Yes it is possible to emulate the Mac hardware and run Mac OS. There are several freeware programs to do this. For it to be legal, though you must own a Mac and extract it's ROM image. Its pretty easy to do a Google search. Currently, it is only possible to emulate the 68k processor. 68k macs can only run up to OS 8 and 68k software. So sorry, no OSX or iPods. The Macs today use PowerPC processors, and if I'm not mistaken, Windows CE runs on some PPCs. So, in theory you can run Windows CE on a Mac. :) Though, I doubt its as easy as it sounds. If you want to get a Mac though, You can always purchase Connectix Virtual PC and run Windows or Linux or whatever on the Virtual PC.

Here are some great step by step Tutorials on getting Basilisk II, the free open source Mac Emulator up and running on Windows.

You're on your own for the ROM though ;) Also, since its open source, I wonder if it wouldn't be too hard to port it to Windows CE...

Well I hope this helped answer your queston.

I hate to agree with moose...but...

1) No, Macs are not better for/at graphic design. This is an old-school argument that went away about 4 years ago when Adobe went full-fledged PC. Now, anything you can do on a Mac, you can do on a PC, and usually better. I have a staff of artists, it took them a while to get over it, but once they started using PCs they never looked back. You can't run SoftImage, Photoshop, high-end Video Dubbing software AND print utilities on a Mac...but you can on a PC.

2) All of Macs benchmarks are poop. They are unrealistic in terms of actual day-to-day use. Bring me a Mac that can emulate a PC at near 3/4ths its own processor speed, and I will gladly eat crow...but I won't hold my breath waiting.

3) And, I say it again...they only have one friggin mouse button. (I know about the rumor of them adding a second one...wow, welcome to the 80's)

4) Macs exist for people who hate the establishment, but are too stupid/lazy to learn *nix.

5) They are no more stable than a PC. I know, unfortunately I have to use one from time to time. The funny thing is, you have to UNPLUG the stupid thing when it locks up...superior my ass.

6) They did not have DVD burners first. The first burners where available for PCs, they were just very expensive.
