I suggest you wait for an XScale PPC to drop below 300$. Wait... wait.. wait...

32 megs ram really sucks. You are forever fighting with your device for more ram. I have 64 and love it (I would like more though). I haven't needed a storage card in like 4 months. Plus I have argentum, lemonade stand (cool game but over priced), snails, and many more installed.

Well, with a CF AND an SD slot, I'll have room for a microdrive and whatever else - bluetooth, storage card... A microdrive wouldn't compare with another 32 MB of RAM, but the double expansion capability sure will be nice :)

How much faster is SD/MMC than CF for storage cards ?

well, the 32mb ram really doesnt bother me that much, but im waiting to get an SD card. Toshiba has their own SD control inside of the Maestro, and its way way wya way way way way way faster than the one inside of the other StrongArm PPC's, the other ones i think use a 1bit interface, while the toshi uses 4bit, but i dunno. And the Maestro is the only PocketPC to have SDIO, meaning you could use a bluetooth SD card with it. the only drawback to 32mb RAM, is when apps that use more than 32MB of RAM come out, but, by then, we all will have Xscale and 256mb RAM!!!! and no, Audiovox is not canning the Maestro, as they just came out with the Thera, whish is basically an Audiovox Maestro, W/out CF, and with an antenna for celphone calling. But it costs $800!! and they use the same connector, so all peripherals for the Thera will work with the Maestro.
Try to buy them at your local staples, they will be much cheaper than CompUSA, and yes, staples has pulled them from their website.

SDIO would definitely be faster than CF. It's like comparing USB to a floppy drive. 8)

john, i dunno if you know what SDIO is, but it stands for...

Secure Digital Input and Output.

Which means, you can hook up peripherals to it, like a bluetooth card, GPS, cell phone, camera, anything really. And since Palm uses SDIO also for expansion, expect some of the Palm SD cards to work with this, like the Bluetooth card, or if palm/Handspring(which is releasing the Treo 90 w/ SD, no more springboard, and no wireless) releasea camera using SDIO.
