James is on the right track. The mindless musings of the ideocy of Bush by the media has gotten people to really believe it. I find that sad.

People need to try to think for themselves. To look at what they are being told and question it. It is sooo easy to watch the news and say "Yeah Peter Jennings! Yeah man! You keep questioning autority brother!" and believe every word he speaks because it is under the guise of objective media. What is dificult is listening for JUST the facts and making up your own mind.

Just because you don't know of anyone who has changed their minds because of polilical debate does not make it pointless. I am extremely well-informed and have significantly well founded beliefs, but I still listen openly to the opposing view-point. I want to hear it. Sometimes, most times, I walk away having learned something, if nothing more than the way other people view a situation. Political debate is the lifeblood of this country. Ignore it at your own peril.
