"It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery!"
Galatians 5:1
About vacations being bad

"See to it that no one takes you captive through hollow and deceptive philosophy, which depends on humand tradition and the basic principles of this world rather than on Christ."
Collosians 2:8 (Titled: Freedom From Human Regulations Through Life with Christ)
If you really did have more faith and more spirit than I then you would be humble and correct me in quiet speech, instead of taking glee in what you see as fault.
Regarding "all other apostles with wives?" It directly states that Paul, the 'most important' of the Twelve Apostles had a wife that he took with him on his ministries. Also James the brother of Jesus had a wife that took with him on his ministries. You're not going to tell me that the Twelve Apostles didn't have wives, because it says so in the Bible.
"Now the Bishop must be above reproach, the husband of but one wife." 1 Timothy 3:2
"A deacon must be the husband of but one wife and must manage his children and his household well." 1 Timothy 3:12
-First Corinthians 7:2 "[...] each man should have his own wife, and each woman her own husband."
-First Corinthians Chapter 9 (Paul speaking) "Am I not free? Am I not an apostle? Have I not seen Jesus our Lord? [...] This is my defense to those who sit in judgment on me. Don't we have the right to take a believing wife along with us, as do the other apostles and the Lord's brother and Peter?"
-First Corinthians 10:23 (The Believer's Freedom) "Everything is permissible [to a believer], but not everything is beneficial. [... v31] So whether you eat or drink or WHATEVER you do, do it all for the glory of God."
-First Corinthians 11:11 "In the Lord, however, woman is not independent of man, nor is man independent of woman. For as woman came from man, so also man is born of woman. But everything comes from God."
-13:2 "If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing." No matter how strong your faith may be, if you have not love for everyone then it matters not.
I'll ebb a little on the definition of Apostle: "2 Corin 12:12 "The things that mark an apostle - signs, wonders, and miracles [..]" Have you done any signs or wonders or miracles, SiGen?
But about priests acting as our confessors. That is absolute GARBAGE! Priests can do NOTHING to take away your sins or to cleanse you: 1 Timothy 2:5
"For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Jesus Christ."
Or how about this? Hebrews 4:14:
"Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has gone through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to the faith we profess. For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with out weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are-yet was without sin." What's the point of a priest that hasn't been tempted? A priest that hasn't been tempted couldn't possible lead me, because I've been tempted quite a lot.
Read Galatians Chapter 3, SiGen.
"After beginning with the spirit you are now trying to attain your goal through human effort?" There is nothing that we can do to become righteous. Keeping the law, not marrying a wife, not taking a vacation, those are all human efforts. They do not make a person stronger in faith or more blessed in spirit. It is Jesus that decides how much spirit we get and there is nothing that we can do to persuade Jesus. He has a plan for us, and He will give us what we need in order to accomplish that plan. Not taking a vacation because you want to be more righteous is not going to make you any better of a person.
Hab. 2:4 "The righteous will live by faith."
