Hrmm. Gotta echo NYI's sentiments, here.
One of my favorite memories is the first time I shot an M16, it was an awesome experience. Like having a magnificent set of power tools, you really feel like you have the power to alter/control your environment.
That being said, I'm none-to-keen on hunting; I've learned plenty of respect for animals without having to off them.

They're tools, and like most tools, the more powerful the tool, the more that care, delicacy, and training should be exercised in their proper use.
